Kesälomastamme jäi varmasti päällimmäiseksi mieleen pikku-An hattu. Suomessa kun ihan jokaisella lapsella on kesähattu päässä (satoi tai paistoi, ja kuka haluaa olla se huono äiti, jonka lapsella ei ole hattua päässä?), joten mekin tietysti taistelimme koko loman hatun kanssa, ja nyt heinäkuun lopulla se alkaa pysyä enemmän päässä kuin rattaiden pyörien alla.
Olen täällä Lontoossa nyt tämän viikon tehnyt empiiristä tutkimusta leikkipuistoissa ja kaduilla, ja yhden hatun olen nähnyt. Eräällä pojalla sylissään rattaissa. Että näin.
One thing that we for sure will remember from this summer holiday is AJ's hat. If you're ever in Finland during the summer, you will notice that every child is wearing a hat (no matter what the weather, and who wants to be that bad mother who's child is not wearing one?), so we had a long fight with it, and now, in the end of July, it stays in AJ's head most of the time.
I've conducted an empirical study this week in London's streets and playgrounds and managed to spot one hat. On one boy's lap in his pram. Oh yes - it's good to be back.
