Täällä Lontoossa asumme viidennessä kerroksessa. Hissejä on kaksi, mutta toinen niistä on niin pieni että vaunut eivät sinne mahdu. Jo heti ensimmäisen viikon aikana hissin (sen isomman siis) kanssa on ollut hieman haasteita.
Yhtenä päivänä hissi oli jumissa kolmannessa kerroksessa kun olimme tulossa kotiin pikku-An kanssa. Aikani sitä ihmeteltyäni päätin, että vaunut on laitettava kasaan, jotta mahdumme pikkuhissiin. Olin purkuhommissa, pikku-A makasi aulan lattialla tavaroidemme ympäröimänä, kun ensimmäisen kerroksen Patrick saapui paikalle ja tarjosi apuaan. Ihana Patrick kantoi vaunut viidenteen kerrokseen ja minä pikku-An ja tavarat.
Torstaina olimme lähdössä ulos kun hissin tilattuani se kyllä saapui kerrokseemme, mutta täynnä rappusiivoojan tavaroita. No, aikamme rapussa odoteltuamme siivooja tyhjensi hissin tavaroistaan ja pääsimme matkaan.
Näistä kerroista oppineena tiedän jo, että jos pitää pikaisesti kipaista ulkona, kannatta kyllä lähteä Baby Björnin eikä vaunujen kanssa.
In London we live on the 5th floor. There are two elevators in the building, but the other one is so small that the pram does not fit in. Already during the first week, there were some challenges with the elevator.
One day we were returning home and the elevator was stuck on the 3rd floor. I started to put the pram into pieces to be able to take the smaller elevator, when Patrick from the 1st floor arrived and wondered if I needed some help. He offered to carry the pram into our floor and I took AJ and all our belongings.
On Thursday we were going out and this time the elevator was working fine, but it was full of the cleaning lady's equipment. Well, after waiting some time in the stairway, the elevator was empty again and off we went.
What I have learned, is that if I need to run out just quickly with the baby, I should not take the pram with me but Baby Björn.
